So, Mike, would it be impolite to wonder outloud about how long it might be (does that sound wishy-washy enough? ;-) ) before we perhaps have the privilege of reading your review regarding "Is it Fall Yet"?

Yo, Joe (I've always wanted to say that since my G.I. Joe cartoon days. ;-) ), Good deal. Especially since Martin hasn't been able to update the Outpost recently, I've been on Mike Quinn withdrawal.

No, but there are some extenuating circumstances as to why I haven't got it done yet, which I will explain below.
The honest truth is I have not been able to find time to start because I have have been swamped with my other responsibilities.
The biggest thing is that my "fall" semester of class started on, of all dates, August 28th, and now that I'm assisting in teaching two courses as well as taking two courses myself (not to mention the thesis that I also haven't found the time to work on, either).
The second thing that's eating up my time is the start of footbal season. As some of you may or may not know, one of my hobbies is officiating youth football. It used to just eat up a couple hours on the weekend, but this year I got promoted to high school games (JV, Freshman) and some of them happen during the week. Now that I have this, I also have to attend more ref meetings than I have in the past - and that eats a lot of prime time hours.
The final thing that is causing the hold up is the length of the movie itself, it's one thing to find a free half hour to rewatch a regular episode, it's a-whole-nother thing entirely to find an hour and a half, maybe more.
So I'm not guarenteeing anything in terms of "when", because I honestly don't know right at the moment (except that it probably won't be any time this week, unless I get really inspired and/or energetic).
Sorry, I guess it's really going to be delayed this time (though, I appriciate that everyone's waiting so patiently - or even at all).
Just because you can answer a simple question doesn't mean you're a pedagogue, ooops, I guess you are. :-) Woah, dude. A teacher, a scholar, and a reviewer...too many hats, eh?
Good for you. Hope this doesn't mean you are thinking about dropping out of the reviewing business for next season!
Hey, there was a reason you called it your "delayed review" in the first place! :-) We'll wait, but just so you know we are looking forward to it. Too many things get taken for granted in this world, and I just refuse to take your excellent reviews for granted or to let you ever think, "I wonder if it's really worth all this hassle, etc." Thanks again for continuing to do it. You're tops!

No, this is a special case because of the length of the movie, and if season five airs during the same time of the year as the others have, then there won't be a conflict.
BTW, my goal with the officiating is to eventually work my way up to the NFL (at my present level, I'm looking at, at least, 15 years or so before that even becomes a possibility).
I know I picked the name for a reason ;)

Well, it is another thing to find a whole hour and a half if you're taking two courses, assisting in teaching two others, just got promoted to officiating high school games and have to attend more ref meetings. It's not so bad if you're in my position -- a library assistant at a community college who works four hours a day, five days a week, and is taking a literature course three days a week for one's own pleasure, but has nothing else that intrudes on the time.
Well, I just hope you get some time over the weekend and are able to watch it for an hour-and-a-half. It may be on Sunday at 8:30 (or is it 8:00?) in the morning, so maybe you can watch it then and find some time to write the review by next week.
BTW, the movie (and "Dye! Dye! My Darling!") was what got me interested in Daria to begin with. I really appreciated the sense of humor that the TV show exhibits, most especially in the character of Daria. And I did love the movie in general. Also, my newfound interest in "Daria" did lead me to your Delayed Reaction Reviews, which I like. So, I hope you manage to do your Delayed Reaction Review of "Is It Fall Yet?" within the week.

Hmmm...well, I'm sure 500,000 posts have already gone up about it, but the version of the movie with commercials cuts some of the dialog. The best way to watch the movie is to rewatch the commercial-free version (plus you get to experience Jessie's guitar solo again!). In fact, some of my favorite lines get cut. Yesterday, I turned the channel because it irritated me so much. ;-)
The first episode I saw was "The Esteemsters" (although not when it first broadcast), and the rest is history. How many have you seen so far?

Let's see -- I've seen (in order they were first broadcast, not in the order I first saw them) "Depth Takes a Holiday", "The F Word", "Legends of the Mall", "Groped by an Angel", "Fire!", "Dye! Dye! My Darling!", and "Is it Fall Yet?".
As you can tell, I got interested in Daria very recently. Liked "Depth Takes a Holiday" but it was pretty wacked; I also liked "The F Word" but didn't think it as wacked (though Mr. O'Neill's idea was wacked); didn't see enough of "Legends of the Mall" to know whether I liked it or not; and I liked the other four episodes quite a bit.
