I think we should put "real name" in quotes, we've only got her word for it that she wasn't changing from her real real name, Deena Lissa, to the rather obvious pseudonym "Diane Aguilar". Isn't there a movie called something like "Aguilar, Wrath of God"? And Diane was a goddess too wasn't she?

You know, with that German rule about posting under your real name, presumably it just means you have to use something that sounds like a real name, as I don't suppose people on the .de newsgroups would be able to tell if it's your real real name or not.

Actually, to set you straight, "una aguila" is "an eagle" in Spanish; "Aguilar" means "having the traits/qualities of an eagle". But you're closer than anyone I've ever come into contact with online. Thank you! As for "Diane", yes, it is a common name, I believe the 57th most common female name out there.

Excuse me, it may be a funny question, considering the original title of this thread (ha-ha...Irony), but has anyone actually seen this new Daria Video? I tried to use the link to Amazon, but it said there was no such animal.

Also, on Diane, I don't know if it's so common anymore. My mother and quite a few of her generation were named Diane, but hardly any of the kids in my school (K-8) or highschool (9-12) have that name. It will probably come back in. Good name. They used to call my mom, "Dinee" when she was at home, which she really HATED, although I remember Deena Leesa as a posting name.

On Chloe, if a character on ER can be named that, it's gotta be mainstream, no?

Regardless of the name, dime con quien andas, y te dire quien eres. That's what I say, anyhoo. It definately goes for the Chloe on ER, that's for sure.

All British soaps are diabolically bad, along with gameshows they are the major weak link in our TV output which is otherwise generally of good quality. They are designed basically to foster the national Attitude of moroseness and fatalism. For some reason all of them seem to get about 20 million viewers three times a week though. A brief plot synopsis for each of the UK soaps (Brookside (C4), Coronation St (ITV), and Eastenders(BBC1)) can be found in the "ET NAUSEA" section at the end of my TV guide, <URL: http://www.xerez.demon.co.uk/TVguide.html> Of course other countries have also aspired to produce depressing trash too - notably the Australian series "Prisoner Cell Block H". Aussie soaps though (Neighbours, Home & Away) are slightly less depressing and more vacuous and are thus imported for and watched by young people here who haven't yet been fully trained in Britishness.
