You know, I can't help but think that it's possible that whole bedroom scene (boy, taken out of context, that mere phrase could throw some people off...) was a set up. Quinn was trying to coordinate an outfit... and asked Jane for help? She seemed very... anxious... to get Jane out of the room. Do you think it's possible that she approached Trent... or vice versa... looking to get him and Daria alone for a bit? The whole situation seemed... contrived. Either that, or the writers aren't very good at setting up coincidences.

I think she was trying to help her out. I've noticed a change in Quinn more evident in Through A Lens Darkly and Lane Miserables, maybe not so much in Daria Dance Party, where her compassion towards her sister shallow though it may be is growing strong. She was able to recognize how Daria felt when Trent went off with Monuque and she even stayed to console her and give her some good advice. Maybe I just love Quinn too much but thats how I see it.

No, I think it was just something that the writers thought up to get Jane out of the room so that Trent would have a reason to come into Daria's room and talk. I think that the writer's couldn't think of a better way of getting Jane out of the room.

Maybe, but I think Tarvok is on to something. Quinn may have been under 'standing orders' from her mother to look for and exploit these types of opportunities to get Daria and Trent alone. Or she could have seen that her sister was sort of avoiding him and tried an experiment in 'matchmaking' on her own (these are the types of things Quinn lives for).

Very possibly. Quinn does actually like Daria, remember. And she's quite intelligent when it comes to social scheming.
