Have any of you hated yourself so much, that no matter what anyone's said to you, no matter how many times someone's complimented you on something, you still feel that everything you are and everything you do is substandard at the very least? Have any of you felt like you wish you could be someone else so that you could stop feeling so much hatred toward yourself and who you are? Do any of you have so little confidence in yourself that you feel like everything you do will end in disaster?
Um... just wondering... sorta... kinda...
LI (well, actually, I AM wondering... just not "just"...)
p.s.: I'm back. Don't know how long I'm gonna be here but I will try to regain at least a semi-regular status here. Dudes, has it been slow lately? Got a ton of earlier messages but not a lot of recent ones.

Some might call it the Dark Night. The experience you describe can be an occasion for profound spiritual growth. It can help you to examine your values, and your expectations of yourself, and can trigger a questioning of your ambitions. It can also help a person escape the grip of the cult of independence, and into a renewed relationship with God and with other people.
Welcome back! I, for one, wondered where you'd got to. 8-)
In some things yes, I indeed have, in others, though I can do better than those around me I realise that I'm not the best in the world....so I guess that makes me a cynical realist.....
"Someone else, not me ?" :) come on you expected that from me didn't you :)
Yes that crushing panicing feeling that you get mostly (for me at least), when paranoia, and lack of confidence causes you to mis-read what is happening around me. Doesn't help either when you have a coligue that in one breath says that you have low self-seteem, and then goes on to belittle you and make the problem worse (no I'm not naming names).
<Rush>Let us not go gentley into the endless winter night</Rush> (Yeah I know they where just quoting).
Yeah it can drive you so deep within yorself that as Martin says you start to constructivly examine what the cause is and actually take some action that may put that right.
** Whichever God, or Gods/Godesses are applicable to your perticualar belief system :) (though IIRC you are both Catholic). But yes this sort of thing was what set me on the path to my belief system, which I will have been following for 4 years on 31/10 :) And yes that itself has also helped me.
Did you bring the hevey weaponry ?
Indeed <Beavis>heheh me too</Beavis>.
Lady, would you mind if I sent you a small Daria ficlet, for your parusal, I think you *MIGHT* apreciate some of the refferences :)
Oh yeah and a quote....
<Duran> I won't cry for yesterday, There's an ordinary world, somehow I have to find And as I try to make my way, To the ordinary world, I will learn to survive. </Duran>
Phill...."All I ever wanted, was to come in from the cold" ^^^ This is also a quote....anyone identify :)
I agree wholeheartedly. I've had the same feeling hun, I'm pretty sure that most of us have. It's a good time to "search yourself" and discover things about yourself that you didn't know beforehand. ^_^
Yay! I was wondering where you'd wandered off to. ^_-
I really do hope you feel a lot better real soon. Let us know how you are, ok? ^_^

"The love that you want to win with your own hands becomes hope"
I don't know - you seem to sum things up well and you always have good comments to make. I, on the other hand, feel that I write too much and that I'm the newest person to de-lurk into this ng and I should sometimes just shut up.
Sara, the newbie who has a lot to say (unfortunately) :)
I hope atd isn't a hierarchical organisation. I don't see why being a newbie or an old hand should make any difference. If you have something to say, say it (lurkers take note!). I don't remember *ever* seeing anyone here imply that length of posting history has any bearing on whether a person's contributions are worthwhile or not.
Nah! Speak up! Yell!! ^_^ You'll have to forgive me, I've had a bit to much in the way of sugar tonight.... bad me! Bad! ^_- Seriously, nobody here bites. (Well, I think I've been here long enough to say that....Lol)
Ming ^..^ The incredibly cute killer panda. (Who dosen't bite!) "I don't want to watch poodles!"-Karyn RUN! Chibi-Usa loves you!!
