Hi, I watched an older episode of Daria today, I forget what it was called but it was the onw where Daria babysitts. One of the kids names were Trisha she made Daria's hair into some weird dew. Then Jane came, and wanted Trent to see it,(he was waiting in the car) but before Trent could see it, Daria pulled Jane in the house and didn't let Trent see her hair. Why didn't she want Trent to see? What do you think.

Uh, isn't it pretty obvious?? She likes Trent, remember??? She doesn't want to be caught in an embarrasing situation for him to see it. Make sense??

I think the whole big thing over this Daria/Trent stuff is the stupidest thing about this newsgroup. The girl's got a thing for a loser. Get over it.

Figures, this post came from someone on Aol. Look, if you don't have anything remotely intelligent to say about the Daria/Trent thing than don't say anything at all. What do you mean this is the stupidest thing about the newsgroup???? Shouldn't you say it's the stupidest thing about the show??? I mean, we have an absolute right to discuss the situation anyway we please. And up until this point I had been enjoying the debates, then this comes along.
All I know is that the second it looked like Trent liked her, the show kinda lost me in this respect. It made sense up to then. Why would a 20 year old wannabe rock star who's still living with his parents want to go out with a 16 year old friend of his little sister's? Keep in mind, I'm languishing without cable, so I haven't seen any of the new eps (Gifted and everything after).

If Trent and Daria ever hooked up seriously, *I* would lose respect for the series, but it's not going to happen (hopefully). The humor comes into play from The Crush and all the wonked-out situations in which it puts Daria. As I've said numerous times here, it's the sexual tension that makes for good storytelling, not the actual pairing up of the two. (Think Sam and Diane/Rebecca in "Cheers", or Matt and Maddie in "Moonlighting". Both went down the tubes once the leads were paired off; fortunately, "Cheers" was able to recover thanks to solid writing. "Moonlighting", alas, never recovered, because their writers -- unlike those on "Cheers" -- didn't know enough to back-pedal out of the situation.)

Yeah, the sexual tension between these two really puts lead in my pencil. And like I said before, it doesn't make for good storytelling because it's too damn predictable.

Her hair was in braids, or something and I guess she just didn't want Trent to think that she was childish or she didn't want him to make fun of her. ~Charlotte~
