Has anyone any idea why there are so many pictures of cheese in the background of scenes in Daria?
I've spotted

Is this an FAQ, in which case could someone tell me where the FQA is?

You're right. Cheese does seem to appear frequently in this show. In the episode "Esteemsters," Daria, stuck in the self-esteem class, diverts herself by drawing a picture of O'Neil with a piece of cheese for a head. And of course there are the regular appearances of Pizza, both cheese-less, and process cheese (Which is a sugarless version of the process they use to make ding-dongs and ho-hos).
But I wouldn't go so far as to call it a cheesy show.
