Daria's Boots

Any guess as to what actual brand of boots seems to most resemble Daria's famous pair? I have a crazy urge to own a pair of boots like that.

Please submit your suggestions.

I always thought they were combat boots from the military surplus store. I can't see Daria shelling out big bucks for a pair of name brand boots like Doc Martins.

As a Doc Martens owner myself, I'd say they were definitely DMs - DM isn't a 'created brand' like Nike etc, it's an English boot and shoemaker with a long long history of making inexpensive boots and shoes for the working man and woman - if Daria would shun DMs solely because the brand has coincidentally acquired a style cachet it would display just as much shallowness as buying them for that cachet.

Of course I'm speaking from an English perspective - if DMs are aggressively marketed and expensive in the US then ignore everything I just wrote :-)

My assumption regarding her footwear is based on a side by side comparison with an actual item versus what I saw in tweo episodes, thats all. As far as the point of origin is concerned, my theory is that she got them out of the attic, since they belonged to Jake when he was in military school. He certainly would have had a pair of parade boots (which these are) and the size would have been relatively close.
