Just in case any of you are wondering where the most illustrious Jordan S. Bassior is, he was here in San Antonio, in the Great U.S. Sun Belt (*blech*), hangin' with me for several days. Be jealous/envious/happy/ecstatic/sympathetic/mournful/apathetic/whatevAH. We're starting up a venture together and I had some great moments with him, all G-rated (or PG-13-rated, for language content). He introduced me to the Wonderful World of Comics and Cartoons (I still didn't get the whole deal until he showed me), AND I made him into a big Duran Duran and Japan fan (*evil cackle*...another one has crossed over to the dark side *cackle*). I now know loads more about Jordan than I thought I'd ever get to know, like...
...what he looks like in person... ...the way he walks... ...the kind of soda he prefers... ...his tolerance levels for high levels of sun and heat (and humidity)... ...his food preferences... ...the way he eats... ...the way he drinks... ...what kinds of books he prefers reading... ...what subjects he's really into... ...what he laughs at... ...which MTV personality was/is his favorite... ...what surprising things he likes... ...his corny sense of humor... ...and other assorted things.
To make this "Daria"-related...we did end up eventually seeing one "Daria" ep at 7.30 in the morning on I *believe* Saturday...and...today I drove him to the airport and before going to the airport we grabbed a bite to eat at Whataburger (he also explored the delights of Taco Cabana, Bill Miller's, and the Texas Hamburger Co....oh, and the Black-Eyed Pea)...anyways, I was trying to find my way back to Airport Blvd. when we drove past a street named...Lawndale. LOL.
Oh yeah, and he knows how ga-ga I am about music now. I'm sitting here staring at the 23 tapes and four vinyl albums I got throughout the duration of his stay and wondering, "wow...just wow". AND going off-topic as this post must go, I'm listening to Kraftwerk's "The Man Machine"...yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. FINALLY got my hands on a Kraftwerk tape. YES! I lurves it much.
btw -- if you get a chance to meet Jordan, RUN, do NOT walk, to where he is. He's an utter blast to be around...VERY extroverted and will get you to be extroverted as well. He's also a really nice guy and I think he's really made me feel great. I'm so totally honored to be counted as one of his good friends. He and I had a great time hangin' with each other and laughing and discussing and such. I'm more than looking forward to his return next time he can come down here. Even though it's prolly going to be in the dead of summer. Yuck.
