Channel 5 Cutting Daria Again !

<RANT MODE> I just don't get it with channel 5 what are they playing at ? Just watched "Daria!" and all I can say is that it was cut in at least two places (I know this having already seen the version as transmitted in the states). What perplexes me is what they cut and why ? I can sorta understand them cutting out all of Jake's "Gah Godamit" (IMHO one of the best bits of the ep !), cause of all the cursing, but having said that they also left in all the similar cursing in "Manly" Why ? They did pretty much the same thing when they showed "The Mysery Chick" erlier in the year, cut out some bits of Tommy Sherman's speach to Brittiny which where sexually sugestive "...and get horizontal and you can find out just how bigger hero I am", but left in "what are you telling me he wants to watch....I dunno", which is very sugestive of voyerism(sp?), I just don't get it at all...

The thing is if they stopped trying to promote Daria as a childerens show, and showed it as an older teen / adult show then they wouldn't have to do any of these cuts at all IMHO....humm time to strat thinking about getting Cable so I can get the episodes un-cut from MTV..... </RANT MODE>

I'd forgotten about all the Gah-gah-dammit threads, you're right his scene in the car only lasts ten seconds, he just calls home, throws the phone out of the window, and that's it. I just looked at the realvideo promo clips for Daria! and there's a whole song that's been cut out there. That really sucks.
