Gloat gloat

I met Dr. Demento last night. :-D

He was doing a presentation at Reed College (he's their most famous alum, heh heh) last night of demented music, complete with videos for most of them, from his show. We heard classics such as "The Monster Mash," "Dare to be Stupid" (by Weird Al), "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park," and "Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy" (complete with a video recording of Ren and Stimpy). Oh yes, and possibly one of the oddest things I've ever seen... a music video of "Fish Heads." It was utterly awesome. And wouldn't you know, he's also a very nice guy. He stayed around after the presentation and answer questions/pose for pictures/give autographs. I got an autograph for my mom. ;-)

And that wasn't even the weirdest thing to happen to me this weekend. Five words: "24 Hour Church of Elvis." But that's another story entirely.

Hey, no problem! Glad to be of service. :-) The damn thing was lodged in my head for hours, I knew I needed to have it for my very own. I had to search to find it, but it was worth it. (Aside: I also stumbled across the song "Marvin, I Love You" by Marvin the Paranoid Android -- now THAT is a find!
