Last night at a ridiculously late hour here (and a ridiculously early one in the UK--I don't care what anyone says, 9 AM is damn early), Greg P. created a "Choose Your Own Adventure" starring the people in the lovable town of Lawndale. I was nominated to announce it to the group, so here you go. Oh, if you don't know what CYOAs are, I'll try to explain. They used to be a series of books which you may remember, and went something like this:

"You're standing in a darkened hallway with a blazing torch in your hand. The ground feels squalid under your feet and the air is damp. There are faint, somewhat foreboding noises coming from the south. What do you do?

1.) Walk straight south towards to the noises in search of adventure. (p. 35) 2.) Walk straight north away from the noises. No monster's gonna eat YOU. (p. 59) 3.) Hold an unofficial sit-in on the dirty ground and begin stacking pebbles on top of each other. (p. 42)"

Then the adventure would go on accordingly. Anyway, these net ones are neat because they're created by the users. Go forth to the URL, and raise hell! Anyone can add, no registration required, so on and so forth. http://www.cise.ufl.edu/~mad/cyoa.html is the address... click on "Dead and Undead" in the left-hand frame, then find the Daria story and click on that. The rest is up to your imagination. Greg and I have just added a few bits to get it started. BTW, don't forget that Great Yarmouth is the town Alli's taken off to.

That is all, thank you drive thru!

----- Actually the works of Nietszche could make an excellent solo gamebook:

Around a bend in the corridor, the floor falls away into an
   enormous abyss. Do you:
Gaze into it? Turn to 68
Jump over it? Turn to 179
Jump into it? Turn to 13
(If you have fought monsters) Become a monster? Turn to 280
