The Pilot---

I didn't like it at all....First off the characters were way off base....I mean Kevin going after Daria...that's a laugh Not because Daris isn't great (cause she is) but Kevin's nature doesn't go for gals like Daria...and I don'tknwo..after seing 26 episodes of Daria the piolet is under myexpectiations

It's just a pilot, though. That's the thing. It tries to get the basic idea of the story down. Notice that their school was labeled "Modern Day High". I wasn't overly impressed with it, nor would I buy it on video or anything, but it wasn't bad.

Actually, I wouldn't even call "Sealed With a Kick" the show's pilot. It's more like a "concept video", a "show 'em something now and work on the details when we're given the green light" kind of thing. I'd bet that the show's "bible" (the guide that describes to writers the show and its characters) wasn't even in the planning stages at that point, and I doubt it was *going* to be developed unless "Daria" was given the go-head by MTV.

SWAK does have one redeeming quality, however: it convinced 'em to give us "Daria". That's all that counts in my book. :-)
