Quinn and Johnny Bravo

Isn't Johnny Bravo Greg Brady as a pop star? Is there something wrong with this picture?

Johnny Bravo is an improbably top-heavy cartoon character with blond hair about a foot high, a black t-shirt, a voice patterned after Elvis Presley, and moves patterned after Michael Jackson. Besides the age difference -- which probably looks much smaller to a six year old than it does to us -- I think Johnny's a bit too intense for Quinn. She wants a boy who'll pay attention to her, not one who expects her to pay attention to him. And in the words of his creator Van Partible, Johnny's kind of woman is ANY woman who'll pay attention to him. Of course, women who DON'T pay attention to him...are still pretty high on his list.

I did some research on this one. Johnny Bravo is the persona of Greg Brady in the episode entitled "Adios, Johnny Bravo." If there is some character in Daria patterned after him, then I can only presume that they directly plagiarized the character from said Brady Bunch episode.

I don't think Johnny Bravo and Quinn would work out. I can just see Quinn meeting him for the first time, yelling "EWW, Freak!!!" and after getting asked out by him, bribing Daria to go instead. Daria would end up telling him what a jerk he was, and at the end of the episode he'd fall in love with Quinn's mother. :) ~~Shel

Anyway, I believe my son was actually pointing out that the "beautiful people" want to be together. Cartoon characters don't really have ages anyway.

Oh, for...look, you ASKED for opinions. I offered one. If you're not keen on discussion, you don't have to ask. That's the funny thing about posting a message to a newsgroup, though -- other people might just want to respond with their own comments and opinions. People are strange that way.

I don't think I said anything to imply that people shouldn't respond. I just didn't think anyone would take it that seriuosly.
