"Speedtrapped!" Why'd they bust the band?

Jane was driving and couldn't pay the fine, so they held onto her. But why were her passengers thrown in jail too? Were they holding dope or something?

Trent and the others certainly wouldn't abandon her. They probably weren't actually in custody, the cell was simply the most convenient place for them to stay out of the way while waiting.

They could have been held for vagrancy, since they didn't have any money to pay Jane's fine.
