There once was a gal named Dar, Spreading sarcasm both near and far, I'd turn on my TV, (The show's on at three) And I'd laugh til my sides hurt too hard.

The show's characters are all a stitch. (But Sandi's mostly a bitch.) *g* Demartino's insane, And Upchuck's a pain, And the storylines are all very rich.

Daria's crush is on a Lane called Trent, (For sixth months his home was a tent) Her best friend is Jane, She's the sister of Lane, And together their days are well spent. *cringe*

She has the most interesting folks. Jake's the target of a lot of jokes. Helen's real stressed, But hey, Quinn's well dressed! And they live on a street called Glen Oaks. *double cringe*

No one knows how to find Lawndale, (So don't even try sending mail) It's only in your TV, Or so says a.t.d. And yes, that thread is quite stale.

So if you want a show that's smart, A true comedic work of art, Watch Daria a bit, You'll love the dry wit, And will have a good place in your heart. *grimace*

well...all I can say is, I tried! cackling insanely,

cheryl

Helen- Well, Jane, since everyone is occupied, why don't we have a little... Jane- (grabs milk carton) Vitamin D, 200%. Vitamin A, 100%... *Are you an angel? Am I already that gone?*- sarah mclachlan

On the mountaintop, wicka_chick spake thusly: <snip lovely and witty limericks for the sake of bandwidth>

I am *quite* impressed! I couldn't do that well if I sat down and tried for weeks. *prints out the limericks for locker art (which is an *extremely* cool thing, in case you were wondering :-P)* Brava, Cheryl!

Hey, check out my website at http://mindy.simplenet.com.

Wow, that rocked!!! I wish I was all creative...

Speaking of "I", yes, I am new to a.t.d. However, I'm not new to Daria...I absolutely adore the show and its messages...albeit sarcastic. I'm not a teenybopper fan that likes the show because Quinn is cute or because Brittany has big boobs. I don't only like the new episodes, I'm not a bandwagon fan. I, however, do think Jake is the funniest man on television today...and I admire Trent solely for his sideburns. Anyways, that's me for you. Toodles!

Ok ok, I'm working on the sarcasm..anyone giving lessons?

You love me, you hate me....
You still wanna see me naked.

I seem to remember this discussion from before ("Soul's waves of grain"; I've heard that somewhere before). This forum only started in the second season of Daria, remember. Seems like that thread had something to do with who started a.t.d. in the first place and the fact that many of the original folks aren't around anymore, 'cept for Diane and a few others.

I know it's meant as a poem, but add in some appropriate music and you have the offical a.t.d. theme song.

There once was a chick, name of wicka, who thought that her poems were sicka. Try as she might, She grimaced, alright, At the end of her lines, at the kickuh'. *g*

She tried her great talents quite often, despite of the threat of a coffin, from laughing too hard at Quinn's leotard, and at rhymes way too silly to soften.

She had this great forum in wonder, at how she could write without blunder line after line, with nary a sign of breaking her keyboard asunder.

Now, what is the message, you say, of this far too long post in your way, as you travel this thread with visions in head of FRESH FISH straight in from the bay?

Well, I'll tell you, of course, if you listen. and stop with your booing and hissin' That Cheryl's the best at limericks with zest a testament fine that does glisten.

Lame rhymes, but I thought an alternate pronunciation for "kicker" worked well to describe all your miscellaneous grimaces and grins at the last line of your limericks. :-)

OK, you've got me on this abbreviation. "Rolling On The Floor" I know, but what is LMAO?

Wasn't sure if ending the longer lines on a stressed syllable counted as limerick, but I just couldn't resist the FRESH FISH line. ;-) The whole limerick as a single question was a bit of an innovation also, but I'm darn proud of that. Took some doing.

No way, Cheryl. Honestly, yours was a work of art; mine was just messing around. Took some guts to start a thread on a poem, too.

Glad you liked it. That's a high compliment, given the source. It felt good to try on my poetry wings after a 15 year absence.
