Just wondering if anyone has order anything from whatshotnow.com and got it arrive.

Here's my paranoid story:

I ordered some stuff on 27th July, and also on the 6th August (I decided I couldn't live without a t-shirt as well). Because they charge $35 to ship to the UK I decided to rent a mailbox in florida that forwards snail mail to the UK at actual cost instead of inflated prices.

I was told my first lot of stuff got sent USPS priority mail on the 30th July. I checked today and neither lot of stuff has arrived at my mailbox yet. I've just been back to the site and there's a "closed until we get a new server" page.

So now I'm getting all paranoid that they've just nabbed my money and done a runner.

I don't know anything about USA postal times, is it possible that priority mail takes over 25 days to cross the states? For future reference what is the best way to get things delivered?

This might be no help whatsoever but whenever I bid for stuff on e-bay, I either pay for surface mail which takes six to eight weeks to arrive or I have a very understanding friend in the US who lets me use her address and then she posts the stuff from work! I think it all depends on the efficiency of the place you're buying stuff from. I ordered some daria merchandise from that crappy MTV store and although it was meant to be shipped together, it arrived in dribs and drabs. And it took them almost three months to inform me about goods that were out of stock before giving me a refund at a pitiful rate of exchange. Sometimes it's hard to be a UK daria fan giving all your love to just one 'toon...

Anyway I hope it turns up soon - I was going to order some stuff from there (I just know my life would be better with a Daria notebook) but nw I'm not so sure.

I can't tell you what it all means otherwise I'll get hauled up in front of the rich inner life inner circle but for example G-1 refers to the gimp I have in my alternate universe who performs all those menial tasks that are generally beneath me. And HSSPIM refers to where I spend most of my rich inner life which is beside my heart shaped swimming pool in Malibu. And all those addition signs and initials? Hmmm, I could go on, Greg, but I get the disturbing feeling that I've oversharing. The one tip I can give you is that there's no wrong way to do a rich, inner life code.

The T-shirts are out of stock so it looks like it's going to be similar to your MTV experience.

If you are going to order from them you really need to send it to a USA address, otherwise your notebook is going to cost you $35 in shipping to the uk, which is just a little excessive.

Just thought I'd let anyone who's interested know that my stuff arrived today from whatshotnow.com.

So it looks like it's safe to order from them, and if you hurry you could still catch the half price sale.

The only thing that appears to be odd is they sent my second order direct to me, instead of to my mailbox address. This is good for me (as long as they haven't charged international shipping), but would be bad if you were wanting them to send a gift direct to someone and they made the same mistake.
