I'm *so* desperate for information I'm pasting this up over here in hopes that someone, at least someone who lurks around here, knows enough information about Duran Duran that they can inform me about this...please help, if you can...

Well I only have "Rio" on Cd, but it is a UK release anyway, I presume the mixes are the original ones, but I'll check when I'm at home tonight, don't think I can help with any info on the Cassette/LP though. LI, do you have a CD player, if the CD did turn out to be the original mixes, then perhaps I could send you a copy of the UK CD ?

It's okay. I was really bummed when I heard the mixes on the CD because the mixes I had had on my older cassette were the ones I was hoping would be on CD and because the CD mixes are the ones I don't like. Like take for example the version of "Hold Back the Rain" on CD...it disappoints because it cuts a lot of the instrumental intro out, which I thought was the most exciting thing about the song, *and* the bass sound on it is weaker IMO.
That's okay, but thanks anyway for your kind and generous offer. I probably have the same mixes you do on my CD; I'm just asking this information because I want a newer cassette of the mixes I had enjoyed on my older cassette, so I can take the cassette over to someone who can copy it onto CD so I can have a "Rio" CD with all the mixes I prefer on it and won't have to worry about the cassettes dying on me.

Ok, I don't have Rio on original Cassette/LP so I couldn't say if it is different.
Hehehe :) Thats why I usually pull copies of sites like that local, so if the site is removed then I have a local copy for my own reffernce.
I'll go back and have a listen to my CD, and see.
Yeah I really must do that with some of my older cassettes, that I have recorded off radio/tv, for ex live concerts that have been broardcast.
No probs.
