Okay. This episode appears to show the characters... _all_ the characters, at their absolute worst. I shall go down from least to most important.

Kevin's amazing stupidity was shown in all it's glory. "Hey Daria? Where are the peanuts?" Need I say more?

Brittney's amazing selfishness, particularly regarding Kevin, was running at full force today. Kevin read his predicted job (gas jockey) and the first word out of her mouth was "ewww!" And then that deal with her jealosy over Kevin's smiling at the customers. Positively rediculous.

Tiffany. What is her problem? She seems to have some severe speaking problem. Her sentances get slower... and slower... ... ... and ... slower... ... ... .... ... ... every single episode. Who's the moron that allowed her into a peer counciling position?

Jake seems to get stupider and more spineless every episode. He'd barely come to the table, caught the slightest whim of a discussion between Helen and the girls, and immediately tried to escape. Now, certainly I can understand that, but how hard is it to just keep food in the mouth... and remember not to talk with your mouth full? That certainly would've helped when he was begging for peanut butter sandwiches.

Helen was the only one not obviously showing her worst, but she seems to be suffering from delusions of age. Quinn: "The stress could put wrinkles in my neck." Helen: "Tell me about it."

Jane answered straight 'C's on her job test. Her apathy is on on full display this episode. And, though I admire her dedication to friendship, when Daria was carted off by her mother, Daria's boss was left up a creek without a paddle.

And, of corse, Daria. I wonder where abject lazyness fits into her sense of ethics? She is far too easily embarrassed; it seems if she is seen wearing _anything_ besides her green jacket, black skirt, and combat boots, she can't take it. She should've probably looked for a job... seriously... on her own, so she wouldn't get stuck with the job she did get from Jake.

All in all, I suppose it was a fair quality episode, but I don't think it's that great. I could even say it could become my least favorite episode.

Still, I thought Treant's lyrics were full of irony. The second verse particularly.

It's my personal hell, where I roast in my shell... (roast in my shell?)

That's the whole problem. If Daria would just be willing to come a little farther out of her shell, the heat might decrease a bit, thus, it would no longer be her personal hell.

Okay, now I *know* you aren't watching the same "Daria" as the rest of us, because there's no character in our show named "Treant."

Well, now that you bring it up, it seems no one thus far has noticed that the word "spoliers" (which looks French to me) appears in the subject line. ;-{)>
