Lawndale in NC?

Although I can't find it right now, I seem to recall from last week someone suggesting Lawndale resembled a suburb in North Carolina. The more I think about it, the more that makes sense. If you've ever driven through the upscale residential parts of Raleigh NC, you'll definitely see the resemblance. The local population... it's as if they cloned a whole bunch of Morgendorfers and turned them loose to make a town. I wouldn't be surprised to find Daria there somewhere.

I think I'll have to stick with somewhere in the Mid-Atlantic region--MD, PA, DE, NJ (Southern), or maybe even OH or IN. You know, one of those places with medium-sized cities near larger cities, but not too near, and not too rural and isolated, either...

OK, I'll admit it-- I don't have a clue, but I love to speculate. It'd be hard to pinpoint it anywhere without looking at all of the eps and trying to figure out all of the various geographical references. And I bet that even then you could argue for just about anywhere except for Alaska (or any other really cold and snowy state), Hawaii (or any other island, for that matter), Arizona (or any other "deserty" state), or Arkansas (or any other really rural state).

Anywho, that's my $0.02.

Yes, it's true that no one in Lawndale has any regional accent of any kind. Well, actually, that depends on where you're from... Anyway, I would have to say that it will be impossible to pin down a state for lawndale unless they give it to us. It's a cartoon town. So i suggest we focus on general areas instead of states. I would suggest the Midwest. Somewhere in Kansas, Possibly? ~Your main man, CrtoonDude. (AKA, Sgt. Poski`)~

Why not Wisconsin? True, we've never seen any snow there, but perhaps the one winter we've seen has been really mild, and where I live in WI there's been snow that melted in a week. And Daria seemed pretty warmly dressed for that football game in the opening sequence. (At least I think it was a football game...) The house she lives in seems pretty typical of the subdivisions in my part of WI, and Alternapalooza could have been a Summerfest sort of thing. Or maybe I'm stretching pretty far here... who knows, I'm tired. (At 7:30 PM... I hate vacations.)

Nevertheless, I'm stubbornly sticking with Lawndale, CT and that's what I'm going with in my fanfic opus, "Trent's Adventures In LA-La Land."

When a few chapters are finished, I will start disseminating them. Warning: they will not be sent to those under 17. There is language used in the story that would definitely not pass muster with MTV BS&P, and a few not too graphic but still graphic enough scenes.

I had to go this route because there are a few things planned which require the scenes there. And the dialogue didn't seem *emphatic* enough without a little strong language here and there.

This won't be a spooger by any means...that's just lame and sophomoric. But there are a couple of incidents which can't just be dealt with with a fade out and fade back in with Trent smoking a cigarette. If I reveal more I spoil it.

I am not sure on which server I have access to that I will put the site, but it's leaning towards 2 Cow Herd as I understand their form setup a lot better than the others.

I will be protecting some of the episodes of the fanfic through the use of RSAC and SafeSurf. As I have mentioned before, TALLL has some language issues and there are two places where there might be issues about sexual situations.

I don't have any more details to give...I have been running Animation Nerd's Paradise for years and spotlighting fansites on the Nerd Tour, but this is the first time I will be actually *building* a fansite.
