I recall seeing something a few years ago about a real movement/subculture that is doing Retro stuff just like in LITPL. I assume that is where the Daria writers got the idea.

well I highly doubt the historical accuracy of the film...if anything product such as this is purely to instigate jingoistic riots in the hearts of those who won by shitting the atom bomb on Hiroshima...you know how simple-minded, vulgar "patriots" are, never getting over victories, shitting on the floor in happiness over recalling how we shot up a bunch of Japanese soldiers and shoved them into camps at Tanforan, how we blasted up the beautiful cities in those countries and did monstrous things to villagers...

Facts can only be found on one's own time in a library or online through official documents, not in a Hollywood spectacle! And even then it can't all be factual. Just like how some Hollywood spectacles could have more factual information in them than documents from the government, and etc...
