I was trolling through the cable stations this morning a little before 9 AM, and what did I discover but a Daria episode, coming up in just a few minutes. It was that dream Daria had where she's arrested for the killing of Kevin. I was glad to see the whole thing at last. I came in about 5 minutes after the start, the first time I saw it.
I was like a breath of fresh air, or---to continue the crime analogy---like being in the State Pen and getting a conjugal visit from your wife.
<fantasy mode>
DARIA: Well, Steve, looks like the State Board of Corrections found the perfect look for you, orange, orange, and more orange.
STEVE: Yeah, next week the whole fashion club will be wearing it.
DARIA: Speaking of which, Mom's working hard on your case, and she thinks she can prove Sandi Griffen is a pathological liar, provided you get a new trial.
STEVE: A pathological liar, as opposed to being just narcissistic, shallow, overbearing, and having the voice of a drag queen?
(They both laugh. He removes Daria's glasses.)
DARIA (feigning annoyance): Steve, you just reduced my entire visual world to a soft blur.
STEVE: You didn't come here to talk about Sandi, did you? (He leans closer, kisses her once briefly on the mouth, then several more times on the face.)

Seriously, people, I wasn't the one who killed Miss Li. What would be my motive? :-)
