Is Daria worthy?

Wow, Trent sure takes a lot of bashing around here. Everyone seems convinced that Daria has given up on him... Fickle girl! (Maybe she should stick to crushes...)

Realistically speaking, if Daria can not learn to accept guys along with their imperfections then she's going to end up a lonelier, bitterer old crone with far too many cats. Sure Trent let her down but, come on, I think everyone heard warning bells on that one. I would have been surprised if Trent had completed the music. He should get points for trying. Why does Trent have to change so much? Daria's not perfect either. A serious relationship requires compromise by both parties. Trent tried, he really did but change takes time. If Daria can't accept him as he is then maybe she doesn't deserve him and should look for someone as serious, self-absorbed, and cynical as herself... I'm sure they would have lots of laughs together... one they both started taking their prozac regularly.

Sorry, I just felt it was time for someone to defend Trent for a change (plus I love playing devil's advocate!).

Personally, I choose to believe that Daria and Trent have reached a new understanding and that Daria has realized that Trent is a great guy but his flaws can't disappear overnight and that Trent has realized what a special girl Daria is and well-worth the effort of trying to improve himself. But then I've often noticed that when I'm not feeling depressed and pessimistic, I often feel happy, carefree, and slightly romantic. Course, then I take a pill and get over it... Still...

Anyway, the police and fire company had to break down her back door to get into the house and they found her dead in the living room, half-eaten by her own cats. The cats all had to be put to sleep... they were mean and besides, everyone said they cannibals now... a few cats got out of the house and there was this huge town search for them... eventually, they found them, too. Meanwhile the woman had no relatives and the house was so filthy, she evidently did not use kitty litter and the cats never went out side (the fire and policemen wore waders when they went in there!), that they ended up burning the house down. I kid you not. Is that a Sick, Sad World-type story or what?
