Despite MTV's apparent plan to discourage the Daria fandom -- what else could have been the reason for the changes in the schedule etc. -- the premiere of 'Is It College Yet' is getting closer. Sure, but only for the lucky ones [1] living in the United States.
Due to reasons beyond my knowledge, MTV will delay the 'free tv' release of IICY. YLE or Finnish Broadcasting Company has shown all the five seasons and 'Is It Fall Yet.' They'd be ready to purchase IICY right away, but MTV won't be selling it [2] before... Fall 2002!
I'm not asking anyone to do against his or her conscience. If you consider the following to be bad in any way, please feel free to ignore me or append you kill file.
a) If you happen to have a video input feature in you display adapter or you have a TV capture card and you're going to digitize IICY and put it available for download via some p2p file sharing service or some other method, please inform me.
b) If you happen to have the equipment mentioned above and you can't or wouldn't like to put the file available for download but you have a broadband connection, please tell me. I can ask one of my friends to put up an FTP server where you can upload the file overnight.
If you answer for any other reason than to comment my deprivation, you might want to use e-mail instead of newsgroups. I'll discard any addresses as soon as they are not needed anymore.
I'm not an expert on juridistical matters -- especially not US ones -- but quite likely doing something like what is described above is forbidden. One doesn't have to be an expert to guess that.
[1] Only when it comes to Daria airings ;)
[2] Or this is what I heard from a YLE executive.
