Chats

I've seen from several *where is everybody* posts that there are chats going on. I wanted to know what software is needed to hook up to these. Or is the chat accessible via a website? I have access to AOL/IM, and have seen plenty of mention of IRC. Is IRC a cross platform program (I have a Mac)? I'd love to be able to participate in any future chats. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I am one of the Ops on the #DariaFan chat on DALnet. I usually go on using my Macintosh...I use a wonderful program called Ircle 3.0.4 which is available for PowerPC Mac or 68K Mac.
