looking in from hospital

HI all

Just saying HI cors I hevend posted in about 3 weeks corss :( I'm in hospital.. Luckely now after the oparation I have a room with telephone so I can go to the internet from time to time.

I'm just stiking around and posting..

Why I'm in hospital? well my guts went almost leterly in a nut. they had to operate me for that last wensday (by then I already was in hospital for 2 and a half week). now I'm recuvering but I'm noe alawd to drink any thing. Maby monday but till that I'm stuk dray..

On a related note, I'm going into hospital on Tuesday. "Assessment" or something, because although I am "clearly anorexic" (cough cough, bullshit) they aren't sure what else is wrong with me, and therefore don't know how to treat me. I'll probably be there for two weeks. They'll sort something out about my exams. I was shown around where I'll be staying and it seemed reasonable. The psychiatrist bloke is a bit scary but the other staff seemed ok. I saw a woman with scars all over her arms and stuff - am glad to see I'll not be the odd one out. ;)

I sure gone try :)

About 10 years ago I had tha same problem. Only thing was I mist tomuch to do exams anyway so they simply let me do it over tha year after( ending up one of the best)

I hope you dont get stuk with snoring ones Like I did (and stil have to deal with). Most hospitals have good food now, wich I couldn't sat 10 years ago. To bad thow that as for this moment I'm not alowd to eat or drink any thing.

Don't know if you're at much risk from it at present, but if you ever got really sick from some other cause (like flu) you would probably have to be hospitalized on an IV, cause your body probably doesn't have enough reserve fat to get you through a prolonged fever (a "fever" simply accelerates metabolism, and usually also suppresses appetite, which causes you to lose like 5+ lbs with a prolonged case). When I had pneumonia (and nearly died of it) I lost 10 lbs in about 2 days.

Hope you've never been depressed enough to be seriously suicidal. It's a rotten feeling, and I've never gotten bad enough to actually make an attempt.

I don't think Alli really thinks she's overweight as such, I get the
impression that seeing how much weight she can lose is just one of her
hobbies. The disturbing thing is that most of her hobbies seem to involve
harming herself, ie.
        - cutting herself
        - starving herself
        - missing episodes of Daria

Possibly it's this last and most alarming development that has led to her being hospitalised? Hopefully they'll shut her in a TV room and force- feed her with all available season 3 episodes!

Yeah but to kill yourself you have to actually care about whether you live or die.

I've never made an attempt, but I've gotten pretty close on occasions. This woman looked like she'd been "self-mutilating" which is *ahem* a habit of mine... <g> I'm OK right now, but that may be at least in part due to having made arrangements to go out and get a bit pissed (UK meaning <g>) tonight. ;)

I think it's one of those skills that people are taught when they're young and impressionable.

Just because Alli's a sweetie doesn't mean she can't hate herself in the privacy of her own home. Hey, saying that has reminded me of that Jane Campion film, "Sweetie". That was one awesome film.

I make it my self :) mainly they give me a strong antibiotica and pain killers.. They did a lot of work in my tummy there. But I know I'll get a lot better when I get out again.. (just like 10 years ago)

PS.. about Andrea, in here strip she pictured herself as Hecuba. I figert out here conektion.. Hecuba was the queen of Troje when it fel. I found a hole bunch on here. And she was loved by the people indead. Still its funny cors we are talkin about the old greak. Thge Goth's are around 500 AC but Hecuba is fare before 500BC..

Good point about "Hecuba". She also figures in a classical tragedy ... I think "The Trojan Women", by ... um, Aeschylus? (please, if I'm wrong somebody correct me).

Which mean s that Andrea (the character, not the lovely Dutch girl) probably reads a good deal of mythology and the classics. Further enhancing my opinion of her intelligence.

Only I do to read that stuf. I just have somuch on cd rom lyberys.. and I found it by chanse. Nor I'm busy with sevrel of thows storys. (maby, one day I'll translate them to dutch(I know I crazy, THats what's keaping me a live :)

But still. loking at daria's database one pic with Andrea in the frunt returning a book (or geting it/ what ever) shads new light.
